Nia's First Attendance to a Birthday Bash

It was a small get together that we had at home last week. Sempena Sufiyya's 2nd birthday as well as untuk buat tahlil arwah for Abah since 2nd April was his birthday. Since I was still in pantang, Abang Yo and Kak Ana decided to have the party at Kota Damansara instead of their place. So for one day, I get to eat real food instead of more ikan bakar and sup sayur. Tapi tak banyak la, I just had a 4 sticks of satay, some potato salad and seafood carbonara.



Also, it was Nia's first attendance to a birthday party. The little miss slept all through the bacaan Yassin and even during the cake cutting ceremony. Cousins dia memekak, terjerit kat sebelah main balloons pon dia tak sedar. Hehe. Bagus jugak, mommy & abah can actually enjoy eating and being in other people's company instead of the two of us je. Rocker Nia Dah Sampai!

Yayyy!!Rocker and head snuzzler Nia dah sampai today. Cepat jugak kedai ni deliver, ordered on 1st April, 3rd April da dapat. Impressive service - boleh la mommy order lagi barang untuk Nia kat website littlewhiz.com nanti. Anyway, Nia da excited nak test duduk atas rocker ni. Mommy pon ingat nak tolong assemble la untuk Nia. Dengan bersemangat bukak kotak rocker tu. After dah baca instruction, complicated lar pulak. Ada nak kena pasang screw bla bla. Sorry eh Nia, mommy tak reti la, kena la kite tunggu Abah balik office malam ni pasangkan. Nanti malam kang Nia boleh test duduk ok baby.

Today birthday Arwah Abah - 2 April 1939. If Abah masih ada with us today, he would have turn 70 years old hari ni. Sadly, God loves him more. Hopefully Abah bahagia wherever he is right now. Yang pasti, family tak pernah lupa pasal Abah. Sabtu ni pon, Insya Allah, kitorang akan buat tahlil utk Arwah, sempena birthday Abah ni. Even for me, personally sometimes rasa mcm tak percaya yg Abah dah takde dengan kitorang. Macam still terngiang-ngiang suara Abah and sometimes ternampak-nampak shadow Abah duduk baca buku dalam library kat rumah ni. Terkilan jugak rasanya sebab Abah tak sempat tengok Nia. In fact Abah tak sempat pon nak tahu that he was getting his 10th grandchild. *sigh*. This is one of the things that I realized, when Abah passed away, yg things that needs to be spoken, things that are important, buat la dengan segera. Jangan la ditangguh-tangguhkan. Tell your loved ones, just how much you love them, how much they mean to you. Cos you never know, mungkin tomorrow, they might not be there with you anymore, or you might now be there with them any longer.

So, untuk Arwah Abah, Insya Allah, selagi nyawa ni dikandung badan (chewah!!hehe), I will not forget untuk sedekahkan surah Yassin every Friday untuk bekalan Abah. In fact, everynight before I sleep, I try to make it a point untuk sedekahkan bacaan surah-surah lazim so that kubur Abah lapang dan terang bercahaya. Mudah-mudahan, diringankan urusan Abah di alam barzakh dan dipermudahkan perjalanan Abah untuk ke syurga nanti. Insya Allah. Al-Fatihah.

Hari Ini Dalam Sejarah

I am so proud of myself today. For the first time, today mommy Nia da berjaya untuk mandikan Nia pagi tadi. Although we didn't do it in her bath tub, (mandi dalam sink je..hehe), at least there was no 'crying on top of my lungs' scene during the whole ordeal. As usual, Nia bangun around 8.30am for her morning feeding. Knowing yg Wan pergi masjid for kuliyyah and Nia is left alone with mommy dia je, I straight away gave her a bottle and burpkan siap-siap. Then its play in the water time. Alhamdulillah, sama mcm other babies, Nia love to be in the water. She will just keep quiet and coo when the water run over her body. So sempat la untuk sabun satu badan although mommy dia ni still tak berani nak shampoo kepala - so kepala a bit masyam la hari ni, tunggu evening bath ngen Wan la for the shampoo-ing. Hehe. So today's event can be recorded in her Baby Book - first time mandi ngen mommy on 1st April 2009 (,")

Also, today I made some online purchases for the little princess. Bought her a baby rocker and a head snuzzler. Rocker to nak guna untuk bawak balik Batu Pahat time cukur jambul nanti. And the head snuzzler will come in handy for our next trip to the hospital next week. So this time, takde la kepala Nia tergolek sana sini dlm baby seat and in the stroller. Previously takde head snuzzler, kepala Nia tergerak2 kiri kanan cos takde support. Sian baby mommy ni. Hehe. Hopefully the goodies will be delivered in time before our next hospital visit lah. All in all, the price was MYR403.00 after some discount and redemption of gift coupon. Mommy da pujuk Abah awal², so nanti Abah will pay for the rocker. Hehehe. Sayang Abah! Mwaks!

Abah skang ni tgh demam kemaruk. Kesian plak tengok. Bukan kemaruk ape. Kemaruk nak beli handphone baru. Hehe. I know dia da tunggu lama da iPhone tu. Now since da sampai Malaysia (finally!), ape lagi..kemaruk ler nak jual handphone lama and get the much anticipated iPhone. E71 ni pon baru jer a few months pakai. Hopefully boleh la jual and get a good bargain so that he can get his iPhone. Kesian plak tgk hari² duk pujuk mommy Nia ni nak handphone baru. Hehe. Nanti kite gi maxis ok Yang..;-)

It's the Tax Season Again!

Pejam celik², believe it or not, it's the season that I hate the most again. Rasa mcm baru je yesterday I had to go to LHDN in Jalan Duta to pay my outstanding MYR700 for last year's tax submission. Now its April again and another round is e-filing submission is due. The reason I hate it so much bukannya apa, its just that I have no idea on how to fill up the BE form. Memang blur! I'm not sure what kind of things that I can get exemptions for. I don't know what figure to put in which column. Memang tak suke la kesimpulannya. For me, LHDN memang menyusahkan hidup je. Haha. We've paid our taxes in our monthly salary. I don't understand why we must submit balik every year. *sigh*. Hopefully, this year I don't have to pay any short amount. Kalau ada nak kena refund okay lah. Hehe.

So this year, I've enrolled the help of Ida to help me out with the e-filing submission. From what she said, e-filing sounded super easy je. But I know better than that based on my experience last year. *grr*. Malam ni project untuk list down all the details. I've reset by e-filing password just now. So far everything looks good. Ida pon da tolong amekkan my EA Form from SSSC. Thanks Love. Time to dig out all those receipts from last year's expenses. Wish me luck!

Nia is 3 Weeks Old Today!

Nia is exactly 21 days old today. Rasa mcm baru jer semalam kena operate to bring her out. Rupa-rupanya it has been 3 weeks ago since I first saw her chubby little face. Now at 3 weeks, Nia has changed a few of her first behaviours. She still sleeps most of the time - so that provides me ample time to rest as well. Now, Nia da tak bgn so frequent at night - she has somewhat or rather develop her night routine. Last feeding must be at midnite and after that she will need feeding again at 3am and 6am - interval of 3 hours between each feeding. Skarang pon dah makin kuat minum susu. Susu mommy dia pon tak cukup, so kena la add on ngen formula - kalo tak for sure la meragam tuan puteri kecik ni. Previously time baru kluar from my tummy, she only drinks about 1oz of milk for each feeding - but at 21 days, each feeding must be at 3oz, kalo tak mesti la siren berbunyi tak puas. Increase in milk intake means she's also weighing heavier nowadays. Sampai lenguh jugak la tangan nak pangku Nia minum susu. Alhamdulillah, sihat baby mommy ni.

Next check-up with Dr Musa is scheduled for Friday, 10th April 2009 - when Nia is exactly 1 month old. Nanti Nia nak kena jab her first immunization. Kesian my chubby cheeks ni - hopefully dia tak demam la after that. Takpe, we'll try to use the tips given by her Cik Yong, letak Vicks kat tempat jab right after the doctor sudah cucuk so that tak bengkak. Apparently it seems to work for Sufiyya - and no demam at all. (,")

It's In the Name

Many have asked why we chose the name we've given to our daughter. So, here it goes, the meaning of:

Nur Aqeela Daania Binti Fahmi

Nur: Light
Aqeela: Bright/Intelligent
Daania: Gift of God
Nia: Beautiful

We try to make sure that all the names given to her has a meaning behind it - since what the parent call the child is equivalent as a doa for her. Initially we wanted to name her as Nur Ariana Daania, but we were not so sure that Ariana has a meaning or not and after consulting an Ustaz, we decided on Aqeela instead since it has a very nice meaning.

Hence, hopefully our Nia (our beautiful gift of God) will be a child that is intelligent, bright, with all the good qualities in the world and most of all a Solehah ummah. Amin.

Introducing Nur Aqeela Daania Binti Fahmi to the world for the first time ever.

Our precious baby girl is finally born on Tuesday, 10 March 2009 at Damansara Specialist Hospital via a Ceasearean-Section operation at 12.28pm weighing 3.42kg with the length of 48cm and head circumference of 35cm.
Our little one started her journey out of mommy's womb at about 3am in the morning when mommy's waterbag broke when she went to the toilet to take a leak. Mommy quickly woke Abah and they actually argued whether it's necessary to go to the hospital or not. But when mommy started to bleed, everthing was on auto-pilot. They showered and got ready to hit the road and prepared for the long day ahead of them.

At the hospital, mommy was quickly rushed to the maternity ward by the ER nurses. There, her tummy was strapped to a machine so that they can check on her contractions level - it was a bit funny because mommy keep on telling the midwife that she cannot feel any contractions because she doesn't know how it feels like - but the machine was showing a spike in the reading - so she is indeed having rather strong contractions. The midwife decided to check mommy's cervix if its dilated or not since she's started having strong contractions, but she was still at 1cm dilation and my head was still not engage properly in the birth channel.

At 9am, the gyneachologist came and checked mommy and she quickly informed the nurse to prep an operation theatre for mommy since I could drown in mommy's tummy if they don't get me out soon. After awhile, our anesthetist came and spoke to mommy on the procedure and gave a chance for mommy to ask any concerns that she might have. Mommy was all geared up to meet me so she was all perky and ready to be whisked away to the OT. She was wheeled off at 10am and given her epidural shot at 10.30am. By 11.45 she was ready on the operation table and Abah came in and sat next to mommy and held her hand all thru the procedure.

Alhamdulillah, after 45 minutes, I came out all purple and wailing at the top of my lungs. Mommy was too drugged to move so my peadeatrician gave me to Abah for him to Azam, Qamat and gave me my first taste of Tamar and Air Zamzam. Afterwards, they wiped me clean and put me on mommy's chest where we were officially introduced for the first time. Mommy was so happy, that she even had tears when she looked at my chubby face.

Overall, it was quite a journey for me coming out of mommy's tummy. Today, I am 19 days old and I have gained 0.2kg from my initial birth weight. Mommy is getting a hang of her new mommy-hood world and I am starting to develop my own sleeping pattern. Both of us are happy and we love each other to bits - that includes Abah as well. ;-)

As the Countdown Begins

11 more days to go...11 days of leg cramps, sakit belakang and kebas tangan....11 more days for my legs to look like karipap...11 more days utk rasa Baby kicking in the tummy....11 more days utk mengada-ngada with daddy-to-be; to be pampered and utk salah guna my pregnancy as a reason to ask him to do things and to run errands for me...hehehe....

excitement and a bit of anxiousness has kicked in....tapi right now, what i really feel is penat...hehe...all the time kalau boleh nak lie down and tido je....

Yesterday dah considered as my last day at the office....hari ni up until Thursday, da work from home...Friday is my PH replacement, and next week da officially on MC....itu pon if the Baby tak keluar lagi la....if not, terus maternity leave lah...

excited jugak rasenye, nak tgk rupa budak kecik ni....i wonder how she looks like...more like me or more like the daddy....better look like mommy...penat je gua angkut hari2 dalam perut, berat ni...ehehhe....currently the baby is weighing roughly around 3.2kg....as usual, gyne suh makan less rice....*sigh*....tu yg susah tu....me likey the rice.....hehehe....mmg susah nak cut terus...but i'm trying to reduce the consumption, so that baby tak beso sgt...

birth plan, for now tentatively, everything is supposed to go au-de-natural....but we'll see lah during the delivery itself....hospital bag for both mommy and baby da siap pack....including daddy's bag as well...kurma and air zam-zam pon da ready for her first tasting in the delivery room nanti....hehe...GL letter and admission form pon dah ready in my handbag since last week....so, ready utk lari masuk lam kete je la kesimpulannye...

last checkup, baby mmg da in position...as in she's already head down....tapi bile check2 lagi, rupanye kepala tak fully engage....so, gyne said most likely lambat lagi ler....daddy nye da excited nak tgk the baby keluar....mommy nye pulak, mixed feelings....takut pon ade....excited pon ade....sume la....da ready ke nak jadi mak ni...ahahha....one step at a time i suppose...

so, i'm hoping that the baby will come out this week or latest by next week....cos the longer she's inside, the bigger she's going to be....so baby dearie, listen to mommy, get ready and make your official appearance soon ok....muwaksss!
